Sister Corine Walsh - Representing all our Guests of Honor

Sr. Corine Walsh CCVI will be representing all our Guests of Honor by attending some (hopefully all) of our reunion activities.

Sister Corine Walsh was born to Ellen and Patrick Walsh on December 31, 1935.  She was the eighth of nine children, five boys and four girls.  At baptism she was given the name Margaret Teresa, but when pronouncing Vows as a Sister of Charity of the Incarnate Word was changed to “Corine”.  (After Vatican II, Sisters were allowed to retake their baptismal name, but since several of her nieces now share that name she felt honored to keep it.
She entered the congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in 1950, came to San Antonio, TX in 1952, and pronounced her Vows in 1960.
Her years as a vowed religious represent the diversity of the congregation’s ministries.  In the early part of her career she spent many years in education in places as diverse as El Paso, Texas, and Chicago, Illinois, holding positions from elementary teacher, to principal, to vocation director, to university-level student advisor.  She served as administrator of St. Joseph’s Home for Girls in Dallas and also spent many years working in the congregation’s health Care ministry as Director of Mission Effectiveness at Incarnate Word Hospital in St. Louis and at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa in San Antonio.  She has also performed the duties of Provincial Councilor and Director of Personnel.  In addition to her current works as congregational secretary, Sister Corine works in the congregation’s Development Office.  She is also “on call” to respond to the needs of sisters who live alone and who often need assistance with daily living, especially as they grow older.

To send Sister Corine an email, visit the Classmate's page.  She is listed as Sister Corine AAA (The first entry).
